We hold a Family Communion service on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of every month at 9.00am. Our services are short, informal and family orientated. You will be made very welcome – please join us. In addition, we hold the following special services:
Easter Day: Sunday 16th April – 9.00am – All Age Communion. Bring loads of chocolate because the Vicar’s a chocoholic. We’ll be dishing out Cream Eggs as usual;
Evensong: Sunday 30th April – 6.30pm. A traditional early evening service, with the choir from St. Nicolas and a shared supper in the Church Hall afterwards (NB: No 9.00am service on 23rd April);
Bank Holiday Pilgrimage: Monday 1st May (Provisional) – leave Brewood Church at 2.00pm for a leisurely walk to St. Peter’s Church. Tea and home-made cakes in St. Peter’s Village Hall. Please look out for notices confirming this nearer the day;
Village Celebration: Sunday 25th June – 4.00pm. An informal Family Service followed by a barbecue at the Village Hall. This is a great opportunity to meet the rest of the Village and to avoid cooking the Sunday lunch. It’s a quality barbecue, with all meats and chicken supplied by Allan Bennett. (NB: No 9.00am service);
Harvest Festival: Sunday 1st October – 6.30pm. Songs of Praise – a service of well-known hymns. Followed by a get-together in the Village Hall;
Remembrance Sunday: Sunday 12th November – 9.00am Communion service;
Carols By Candlelight: Sunday 17th December– 6.00pm. Our most popular service. Traditional carols, readings by our youngsters, building the Crib, chocolates on the Christmas tree, food, wine & hot punch in the Village Hall afterwards. Informal, absolute chaos, great fun – just brilliant. Christmas starts here;
Christmas Day: Monday 25th December – 9.00am. Everyone’s welcome, especially children with their favourite presents. We’ve had most things appear in the aisle over the years – except a remote control helicopter – who’s going to be the first – – . Get the turkey in the oven & just turn up, dressed as you are – jeans, aprons, pyjamas, funny hats – we don’t mind, we just want to see you in Church.
What can the Village Church do for you? We would welcome any suggestions for changing our services – times, dates, format – and for introducing different services or social events. Please call or email:
