Phil Harper, our Children, Youth and Families Worker will be moving on to a new job, more details of his new post below.
I can finally let people know that I have a new job and will be leaving St Nicholas & St John’s Churches and Codsall. My new job is as Children and Families Minister at Holy Trinity, Stratford-upon-Avon (Yes, the one where Shakespeare is buried and no the missing skull is nothing to do with my job negotiations).
I begin at Stratford on 1st July, but I will be using up some holiday before that to move house, as long as I’ve found somewhere to live. My final Sunday service at St John’s will be 5th June and St Nic’s will be 12th June.
I’ve been Children, Youth and Families Worker at St Nic’s for 9 and a half years, but moved to Codsall with my family aged 18 in Aug 1998, so after half my lifetime here it feels very strange to be leaving.
I will be sad to leave, but it is an exciting job and Church that I will be moving to. They’ve begun some work with and services for children and families, but this is the first time they have appointed someone specifically to the role and there are lots of challenges and things to try ahead.
My leaving and new job was announced at all the Churches involved today, which is why I can now let people know. It hasn’t been easy not being able to tell anyone and I’m sorry I haven’t been able to inform people personally, but this was the only way to make sure people found out at the same time.
I’m always up for visitors and apparently Stratford is a nice place to visit. 😉 hundreds of American & Japanese tourists can’t be wrong!!
